City Of Irving: Traffic Alert: TxDOT Closing Loop 12 Oct. 30-31

TxDOT will close all north- and southbound Loop 12 lanes, from Texas Plaza Drive to Grauwyler Road, beginning 7 p.m., Saturday Oct. 30 for bridge demolition work. The highway is expected to reopen by 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31, weather permitting. TxDOT advises there will be other various lane closures in the corridor during this time.

Detours will be in place with signage for drivers:

• Southbound Loop 12 detours to westbound State Highway (SH) 183 and will loop back at Carl Road for access to southbound Loop 12 around the closure. View the detour map.
• Northbound Loop 12 detours to eastbound SH 183. Traffic then moves to northbound SH 482, and loops back just past Century Center Boulevard to SH 114 for continued access to northbound Loop 12 around the closure. View the detour map.

Motorists are advised to expect long traffic delays in the area and seek alternate routes. TxDOT urges motorists to use caution in the work zones.

This work is part of the $301 million Irving Interchange project that will reconstruct the interchanges at SH 183, SH 114, Loop 12 and Spur 482. The project is anticipated to be completed in mid-2023.
