🌱 DART Suspends Services + 'Adopt A Lovable Companion' In Irving

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Irving.

Happy Saturday, people of Irving! Here's what's happening in town today.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny and cold. Hard freeze alert for Dallas County. High: 44 Low: 25.

Here are the top five stories today in Irving:

  1. Curious about the final snowfall totals after Winter Storm 2022? The Irving area reported about 1.7 inches. Eastland reported the most white stuff — 5 inches. (WFAA.com)
  2. Looking for someone to love? The City of Irving announced the Adopt A Lovable Companion initiative, running from February 8-12. For just $20, you can take home a new buddy who has been microchipped, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and more from the Animal Care Campus. (Press Release Desk)
  3. Get a preview of what furry friends you might see over at the Animal Care Campus event with a roundup of animals who are available for adoption from the Irving Patch. Among the lineup are a lively-looking young cattle dog called Titanium Avalanche and a small female Siamese named Pandora.
  4. Melting snow, sleet and a refreeze created treacherous conditions for drivers throughout Dallas County. Take a look at footage of the slick roads over at FOX 4 Dallas.
  5. DART officials say they've suspended all rail and bus services due to winter weather in the area. Services are scheduled to resume at noon on Sunday. (CultureMap Dallas)
