Here are the top five stories in Irving today:
- DFW Airport celebrated its 48th anniversary on Thursday, January 13. The airport welcomed its first commercial aircraft carrying passengers all the way back in 1974. Read about the facility's progress over at the Irving Weekly.
- Arlington's Esports Stadium will soon be under new management. Dallas-based Envy Gaming will host its first event at the facility on January 21-23. Get the details at the Times News Express.
- The President of the University Of Texas at Dallas issued a statement in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The institution is planning a week of activities related to the January 17 holiday in addition to opportunities to volunteer and give. The President added that the school recently became a charter member of STEMM Equity Achievement (SEA) Change, a program of the American Association for the Advancement of Science to promote equity and inclusion in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine.
