- Police report a fatal shooting just about 6 miles from the heart of Irving on Tuesday night. A 19-year-old man was killed and a woman was injured in a robbery outside a shopping center near Cockrell Hill and I-30 in West Dallas. Officials are requesting people who might have information about the case to contact the police department at 214-671-3603 or patty.belew@dallascityhall.com, with reference to case number 185765-2021. - An Arlington resident had a great week this week. Jay Wallis reports that one local won a $1 million scratch ticket lottery prize. The prize is the second of 12 prizes worth $1 million that has been claimed in this game. (WFAA.com)
- There's a new chairman in town: The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber Of Commerce issued a press release announcing the election of John Nicks as Chairman Of The Board for the organization. He currently serves as Senior Vice President of Corporate Services at Envoy Air, which is headquartered in Irving. Nicks replaces Sam Reed, who served in the role from 2020-2021. (Press Release Desk)
