🌱Free COVID Testing At Trinity View Park + Newest Irving Eats

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Irving.

Good morning, neighbors! Ash DeMello here with the latest edition of the Irving Daily.


First, today's weather:

Mostly cloudy; breezy, cooler. High: 50 Low: 33.


Here are the top five stories in Irving today:

  1. Police discovered two people dead in a parking lot of an apartment complex in Arlington on Friday evening. The complex has been identified as the Felix Apartments in the 2100 block of Cypress Club Drive. No further details regarding the crime or the victims have been released. Police say an investigation is underway. (WFAA.com)
  2. Get some tips from Irving ISD for dealing with winter weather over at Irving Weekly. The agency reminds families to make sure students are dressed warmly, where to find information about closures/delays caused by inclement weather and how to stay safe when riding the bus.
  3. Visit Irving's latest blog features a list of the newest additions to the Irving-Las Colinas restaurant scene. Highlights include the Irving Bakery, Indian street food at Eggholic and a handful of franchise openings. If you're looking to enjoy some live tunes alongside your eats, Michael's of Las Colinas in Las Colinas Village pairs Soul Food with music throughout the week.
  4. Learn about the free COVID-19 testing site that opens on Monday, January 10 at Irving Weekly.
  5. The funeral for Euless detective Alex Cervantes was held Friday. Find out how his family is doing in the wake of the tragic drunk driving crash. (WFAA.com)

  • Sunday Funday @ The Irving Arts Center - Bring your whole family for free, artsy fun. (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM)
  • Kraig Parker & The Royal Tribute Band - Celebrate one of the most iconic musicians of all time, Elvis Presley, at Carpenter Hall at the Irving Arts Center. Tickets start at $32.50. (7:30 PM)
