Here are the top stories today in Irving:

  1. Police were dispatched to the 6400 block of Rivertrail Circle around 5:00 AM Friday because there were reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they discovered 34-year-old Alphonso Lewis was dead. Police are investigating. Click over to NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth for more info.
  2. Grab your sweaters and long-sleeved tees! D-FW finally hit freezing temps early Sunday morning. Kyle Roberts reports that the drop was three weeks later than average. And it's the 11th latest freeze in area history — the latest was January 4, 1972. (WFAA.com)
  3. Grand Prairie native Selena Gomez is returning to create a film about a regionally notorious crime. The Spanish-language documentary will examine the cartel-related murder in Southlake that happened in 2013. When complete, it's set to play on Univision. (WFAA.com)
