Here are the top stories today in Irving:
- The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) awarded an Irving student a $10,000 grant earlier this week. Julia Paek was recognized for her 3D Study Cube, which she submitted as a "world betterment project." Paek's idea seeks to make education collaborative rather than competitive, offering high-quality opportunities to those limited for economic or regional reasons. (Irving Weekly)
- Another Irving student got some well-deserved recognition this week: Aamilah Chowdhury received the Notorious RBG Women of Tomorrow Scholarship from the National Society of High School Scholars. Read more about Chowdhury's accomplishments over at Irving Weekly.
- Officials say that an Arlington man died after falling from his roof on Nov. 26. They add that it's believed he was installing Christmas lights at the time of his fall. The man was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead shortly thereafter. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
