🌱Irving Man To Leave Kyiv Thursday + Volunteers Needed For NTTBF
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Irving.
Morning, neighbors! It's me again, Ash DeMello, your host of the Irving Daily.
First, today's weather:
Partly sunny and warm. High: 77 Low: 34.
Here are the top stories in Irving today:
- Get the latest from the Irving man who's staying in Ukraine despite the prospect of a Russian invasion at Fox4. Tom Sanchez says the tone has changed in Kyiv, where most foreigners have left and people seem to be "bracing for impact." Sanchez says he plans to leave on Thursday and has alternatives in mind if a flight home isn't an option.
- The city of Irving is looking for volunteers to support the North Texas Teen Book Festival, to be held March 4 and 5. The yearly event hosts 50 authors and provides over 500 free books to teens from low-income communities. Volunteers are needed as greeters, monitors, assisting with lines and more.
- Help keep Irving clean and register to volunteer for the Don't Mess With Texas Trash-Off! Volunteers will pick up litter around the community, with lunch and supplies provided. Virtual participation is also welcome! (City of Irving)

From my notebook:
- Today is National Margarita Day! In honor of the occasion, I dug up a year-old Visit Irving blog, which lists some of the best spots in town to get the classic sweet/sour cocktail.
- Irving is a great place but every once and awhile you gotta go take advantage of the metropolis next door. Click over to the Dallas Observer to find out who's offering $7 burgers around Dallas for Burger Week.
