🌱 Irving Sues Netflix, Hulu + Who Says Arlington Has Best Sisig?

Good morning, Irving Metro folks! My thoughts are with everyone affected by the disaster in Kentucky. Here's what's going on locally on Tuesday, December 14.

First, today's weather:

Mostly cloudy and warmer. High: 78 Low: 67.

Here are the top stories today in Irving:

  1. Officials at the City of Irving are saying streaming services need to pay for using public wires. And they're making sure companies like Netflix, Hulu and Disney+ hear their complaint: Along with Dallas, Frisco, Grand Prairie and other North Texas cities, they're suing these companies for franchise fees. Traditionally, cable companies such as AT&T have paid these sorts of fees. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
  2. Check out local food writers' thoughts on the best things they ate this year over at the Dallas Observer. Arlington's Kanin got a special shoutout from Felici Lopez. According to Lopez, the Filipino restaurant has some of the best sisig she's had in the DFW area.
  3. Looking for a new place to put your nameplate? Irving Patch shares a list of the latest area job openings. Lots of customer service positions are ready to be filled, but there are also sales, marketing and warehouse positions.
  4. Get out your calendar. Irving Patch shares a round-up of events going on this week.
