Here are the top three stories today in Irving:
- Looking for a new home in the Irving area? Each week, Patch curates a list of properties to hit the market to help you narrow down your search. For this week, you will find three of the latest homes for sale, including a listing with three beds and two and a half baths for $379,000, and another with five beds and three baths for $524,000. - Last Friday (Mar. 4), U.S. companies celebrated employee appreciation day to honor workers for their commitment and dedication. In a study conducted by WalletHub that compared 116 of the nation's hardest-working cities, Texas had seven of the top 20 cities, led by Irving, which ranked 5th. Other Texas cities in the top tier were Austin, Plano, and Dallas at 8th, 9th, and 10th, respectively, followed by Corpus Christi, Fort Worth, and Arlington. Irving also had the lowest share of households where no adults work at about 11%. (NWA Online)
- The Irving Art Association will meet on Mar. 22 and feature the artist Pouran Lashini who will make a presentation on Persian art techniques. Lashini will give a demonstration using one of the traditional Persian art themes: the miniature art of the Persian garden. The 7th Annual Persian Art Exhibition will also be on display in both galleries to feature traditional and contemporary art on the theme "Fly to My Dreams." (Art News DFW)
