Morning, neighbors! It's me again, Ash DeMello, your host of the Irving Daily.

First, today's weather:

Lots of sun; becoming windier. High: 70 Low: 59.

Here are the top five stories in Irving today:

  1. It's no surprise that Roots Southern Table in Farmers Branch made Texas Monthly's list of Where to Eat Now 2022. Chef Tiffany Derry's Jerk Lamb Chops got a special shoutout thanks to habanero-laced marinade and elevated hoppin' John accompaniment. (D Magazine)
  2. Do you know beans about making chili? Whether or not, there's an opportunity to test some coming up over at the Cedar Creek Brewhouse's North Texas Craft Beer Chili Challenge. More than 30 North Texas breweries will be submitting chilis for sampling at $10 for 10 samples this Sunday. Proceeds will go to Metrocrest Services. (Dallas Observer)
  3. Looking to hear some good music in the upcoming days? Central Track offers a list of performances that are happening over the next week, including Sons of The Pioneers at Arlington Music Hall. The band is referred to as a "National Treasure" by the Smithsonian Institute.
