🌱Parkland Looking To Hire + Alkegen Brings HQ To Las Colinas

Here are the top five stories today in Irving:

  1. A career boost may be just around the corner. Parkland Hospital began a two-day virtual hiring event that runs through today. The facility has openings across the healthcare career spectrum. Click the link to find out how to register. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
  2. There's soon to be a new company headquartered in Williams Square in the Las Colinas area. Alkegen, of a Tonawanda, N.Y., is set to bring its corporate offices and filtration and battery businesses to North Texas sometime in the spring. The company, which employs thousands worldwide, will operate under the name Unifrax. (Irving Weekly)
  3. D Magazine shares a list of 52 new ways to experience the DFW area in 2022. Local offerings include Asia Times Square in Grand Prairie, which hosts a lively festival for Lunar New Year (February 1), the Dallas Jackals (who play professional rugby in Arlington) and the Cake Carousel, which offers classes in Richardson and Arlington.
  4. Discover a new spot for a daily caffeine boost at Black Rock Coffee Bar in Arlington. It will be the Oregon-based company's ninth location in Texas. Head to 5723 Interstate 20 in the Green Oaks neighborhood for free 16-ounce drinks all day on January 28 in celebration of the opening. (inForney.com)
