Stay in the loop about everything worth knowing in the Irving Metro with Patch's daily newsletter.
Good day, neighbors! Ash DeMello here with the Thursday copy of the Irving Metro Daily. There's lots going on today in the area, with plenty of foodie-friendly opportunities: a new Starbucks, lobster at AMLI Los Colinas and a whiskey pairing dinner at Whiskey Cake.
First, today's weather:
Very windy; mostly sunny. High: 70 Low: 53.
Here are the top stories today in Irving:
- Good news for coffee fans in the area! Irving's Heritage District is now home to a new Starbucks. Click over to watch the ribbon-cutting celebration with the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce. (Irving Weekly)
- North Texas is a great place to live, play and work for many reasons, but Forbes says it might just get more expensive to enjoy all those amenities in the near future. Andrew DePietro explains that a rising population has put pressure on the Irving housing market. With just 162 homes available on the market at the time the article was published, prices are poised to increase.
- Texas Stadium was demolished ten years ago, but the former home of the Dallas Cowboys would have marked its 50th Anniversary this week. The City of Irving recognized the occasion with a trip into its archives and museum. Take a look at actual seating and player lockers from Texas Stadium, an authentic Tom Landry hat and core drillings engineers took before the facility was imploded at NBC DFW.
- "Keeping up with the Joneses" may have just got a little harder. Check out how many Dallas-Fort Worth workers now earn six-figure salaries at CultureMap Dallas.
- Get the lowdown on the DFW healthcare scene with news about a staffing company moving to the Toyota Music Factory and Medical City's newest Level III Trauma Center at D Healthcare Daily.
