(houstonchronicle.com) — Kingwood residents may see long-term flood relief as a new Lake Houston Dredging and Maintenance District starts organizing to remove sediment from the lake and San Jacinto River. Local advocates and officials from the Kingwood area are pushing to fund the agency, which aims to routinely dredge instead of waiting for disasters like Hurricane Harvey to devastate nearby neighborhoods again.
