• LHISD says no decision made on new lunch balance policy (lhindependent.com) — Liberty Hill ISD says no new lunch policy has been approved, despite information circulating that students with balances below minus $25 would receive only cheese sandwiches starting Oct. 1. • Panthers open district play with 38-24 win over New Braunfels (kdhnews.com) — Liberty Hill Panthers football opened district play strong with a 38-24 road win over New Braunfels, powered by a dominant defense and three rushing touchdowns from senior fullback Grant Gibson. With big plays on special teams and key sacks from multiple captains, the Panthers return home 1-0 in district and positioned well for another title run.
• 5 years after the Ponderosa Pet Resort Fire, safety advocates fight for cities to adopt new 2027 International Fire Code (kvue.com) — Liberty Hill kennels now follow Williamson County ESD No. 4 rules, which require electronically supervised smoke detection unless facilities have sprinklers, as part of broader regional reforms after Georgetown's 2021 Ponderosa Pet Resort fire. Fire experts are pushing cities to adopt the tougher 2027 International Fire Code, aiming for stronger protections like minimum overnight staffing and faster sprinkler systems at pet boarding facilities across Central Texas.
