  1. Students from all eleven Frisco Independent School District high schools have been chosen for the Texas Music Educators Association Texas All-State Music Ensembles. This honor is considered the highest individual honor a band, choir, jazz, or orchestra student can achieve in Texas and is highly competitive.   2. According to data published on the district website, McKinney Independent School District has nearly hit one thousand active COVID-19 cases. The district has reported 883 active cases in students and 110 active cases in staff which brings the total number of cases to 993. The definition of an 'active case' is a person who has received a “lab-confirmed positive case of COVID-19” and has not yet returned to school. (Community Impact Newspaper)
  3. Candidate filing for Frisco City Council is now open. Council seats for Places Two and Four are up for election. The last day to file for a place on the ballot is Feb. 18 with the last day to register to vote in the election being Apr. 7. (Community Impact Newspaper)
