Frisco Residents Invited to Cycle with City Leaders

The City of Frisco continues its Cycle the City bike ride series on Saturday with a 6-mile community ride that offers residents a chance to engage with city leaders.

The city posted the details to social media on Tuesday afternoon. Starting at 8 a.m. on May 16, community members will gather at the B.F. Phillips Community Park, 3335 Timber Ridge.

Cycle the City is a program that allows residents to ride alongside city leaders and staff from the Frisco Fire Department, the Frisco Police Department, and Play Frisco Parks & Recreation.

According to the program website, these monthly rides take place April through September. The rides take a conversational pace so that City of Frisco elected officials and staff from city departments can engage with residents.

Routes are a combination of on-street and hike & bike trails with distances ranging from 5-10 miles. Each ride lasts between 2-3 hours. Residents are encouraged to participate so they can learn about Frisco, enjoy its parks, and discover public art.

After Saturday's event, the next Cycle the City event will take place on June 20 at the PGA Trail. That ride will start at Stafford Middle School and stretch for 7.7 miles.

All Frisco parks and trails open 30 minutes before sunrise and close 30 minutes after sunset except sports complexes, which close at midnight. The Frisco Skate Park closes at 10 p.m.
