• Former Cowboys OG John Niland dies at 82 (nbcsports.com) — Longtime Dallas Cowboys guard John Niland, a six-time Pro Bowler and starter on the franchise's first Super Bowl championship team, has died in McKinney at age 82. The former first-round pick played nine seasons in Dallas and one in Philadelphia, and is remembered for his role in the Ice Bowl and Super Bowl VI. He is survived by his wife Shaughn and daughters Jordan and Haven.
