Here are the top stories today in McKinney-Frisco:
- The Election Day polls have closed, but voters in McKinney still have one more race to decide on Jan. 15, 2022. Voters will elect one At-Large City Council member in the upcoming Special Election. Applications for candidacy will be accepted beginning today (Nov. 3) through Nov. 12. The Candidate Packet is available on the Elections webpage for individuals interested in learning more about running. (North Texas e-News)
- The House of Bread, which plans to open a location in Frisco, TX, will celebrate its anniversary by offering 25-cent cinnamon rolls to the first 250 customers. Owner and operator Sheila McCann plans to bake a 25-pound cinnamon roll in celebration, which she will slice and give away. (KSBY)
- Frisco will welcome a new residential community in the summer of 2023. On Monday, workers broke ground on the planned 337,000-square-foot community, located at 5750 Cotton Gin Road. According to the real estate development firm behind the project, the Presidium Frisco Square community will have "high-end amenities chosen for modern living," such as keyless entry, thermostats with built-in Alexa capabilities, smart light switches, and energy-efficient appliances.
