- According to Star Local Media, Frisco's newest Place 5 City Council member will be Laura Rummel. Community members voted this weekend between Rummel and former Frisco City Council member Tracie Reveal Shipman in a runoff election. Unofficial results reportedly show Rummel with 51 percent of the vote. (Star Local Media)
- In honor of Women's History Month, the Frisco Public Library shared some of their staff's favorite books for teens and youths! The books on this list are written by women-identifying authors and are perfect to read with your kids. (Press Release Desk)
- Do you or your children frequently experience migraines? If yes, you know how painful it can be. The North Texas Institute for Neurology and Headache in Frisco wants to help. To expand their research on migraines, they need migraine patients ages 12-17 to volunteer for a clinical trial. Participants must meet the age requirement, have at least one migraine per month, and have at least a six-month history of migraines. (Star Local Media)

- Check out this new nightspot at Hub 121 in McKinney's Craig Ranch. ChopShop McKinney Sports Garage features plenty of seating indoors and on two levels of patios, TV, a game room, attached wine room, Wine A Little McKinney, and of course a full menu. (Instagram)
- Teachers are heroes to students and families in many ways, but McGowen 5th grade math and science teacher Michael Steiner became a hero in the most literal sense of the word recently when one of his students began to choke while eating a snack. When Michael saw that she couldn't breathe, he sprang into action and performed the Heimlich maneuver, saving her life. The MISD Board recognized Michael for his quick response in coming to the aid of this student during a moment of real danger. (Facebook)
- TRAFFIC ADVISORY for today (Mar. 28)! TxDOT is implementing a temporary road closure at Custer Road and Prosper Trail beginning at 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured to Coit Road as TxDOT implements a traffic switch onto the new pavement on Custer Road. Prosper Trail is expected to reopen around 3 p.m. Drivers are advised to seek an alternative route during this time and follow posted signage. (Facebook)
