City Of Frisco: Main St, Frisco St And Frisco Square Streets Closed Thursday Morning For North Texas Turkey Trot

(November 23, 2021) The streets surrounding Frisco Square and Toyota Stadium will be closed Thursday morning, November 25, between 6 to 10 a.m. for the North Texas Turkey Trot. In addition, one road in Frisco Square will close the night before so the event can be set up. These closures are described below:

Road Closures starting Wednesday, November 24

• The portion of Simpson Plaza directly in front of the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center will be closed Wednesday evening starting at 5 p.m.  During the closure, drivers will still be able to approach City Hall and the Public Library from all directions, but they will not be able to drive or park directly in front of the building (see attached map).  Any driver who circulates around Simpson Plaza will be diverted to circulate around the back of the building where they will have access to the free parking garage.  (Keep in mind that the Public Library closes early at 6 p.m. that day.) 

Road Closures on Thursday, November 25 (Thanksgiving/Race Day)

• The streets surrounding Frisco Square and Toyota Stadium will be closed Thursday morning between 6 to 10 a.m.  Main St will be closed between Dallas Pkwy and John W. Elliot Dr; Frisco St will be closed between Main St and Eldorado Pkwy; and most of the streets in Frisco Square between Main St and Page St will be closed.  Traffic on Main St will be detoured around the race in one of two ways (see attached map).  Traffic can use Dallas Pkwy, Eldorado Pkwy and North County Rd as one alternate route, or use John W. Elliott Dr, Page St and Dallas Pkwy as another route. Detour signs will be posted.

The Frisco Public Library, the Municipal Court, and the Heritage Center will be closed due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Race participants will park in the west parking lots of Toyota Stadium or in the parking garage behind City Hall.  During the street closures, the parking at Toyota Stadium must be accessed from the northbound Dallas Pkwy frontage road.  Drivers on Dallas Pkwy should turn right at the first driveway north of Main St or turn right onto Technology Dr.  The City parking garage must be accessed from Page St, which can be reached from northbound Dallas Pkwy or from John W. Elliott Dr (see attached map).

Frisco Square residents who live on Coleman Blvd or World Cup Way should check with their management office regarding their limited access into and out of the area during the event.

Waterford Market residents and hotel guests staying on Enterprise Dr must approach those buildings using John W. Elliott Dr from the south.

Cinemark customers who arrive before 10 a.m. will need to approach the building by using northbound Dallas Pkwy and turning right onto Page St.

During the event, spectators are reminded to stay on the sidewalks in Frisco Square as all of the roads are part of the race course.
