Here are the top three stories today in McKinney-Frisco:

  1. Wing, the drone delivery division of Google, is kicking off the self-proclaimed first commercial delivery service in a major U.S metropolitan area this week in Dallas and Fort Worth. The division is starting off by offering services to tens of thousands of suburban homes in the Frisco area. The delivery service has partnered with Walgreens, EasyVet, Texas Health, and Blue Bell Creameries. Wing President Adam Woodworth cautions that not everyone should get their hopes up regarding the drones because not everyone who lives within range will be able to order. (CultureMap Dallas)
  2. The McKinney boys and Memorial girls of Frisco received accolades from the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches all-state and all-region honors. McKinney senior Alex Anamekwe was among this group after helping lead the Lions to the Class 6A state championship game. Meanwhile, the Memorial girls paved their way to San Antonio with the instrumental play of senior Jasmyn Lott. (Star Local Media)
  3. In Frisco, La Hacienda Ranch's hiatus may be coming to an end. On Jul. 27, after a small fire forced the closure of the restaurant for repairs, upgrades and remodeling, a recent sign displayed a hopeful intent to open on Apr. 19. Last November marked year 28 of the location's existence. (Star Local Media)
