- A Frisco actor with cerebral palsy is hoping to inspire others. When Surya Kasibhatla was growing up in Plano and Frisco, he told his parents he would like to be an actor even though he has cerebral palsy which affects his movements and speech. Kasibhatla found himself in India, playing a person in a Bollywood film with cerebral palsy. The movie "Jalsa" was released on Amazon Prime Video on Mar. 18. It is the first film originating from Bollywood to feature a disabled actor. "When they selected him it was an unbelievable feeling," Surya's dad Krishna Kasibhatla said. "The hope is for this being a harbinger of change. And this brings a message of inclusivity is what I feel and I'm already starting to sense that." (WFAA.com)
- A new CBD store, Earth and Roots in Frisco, is now offering edibles, tinctures, and topical products to the community. A grand opening is planned for Apr. 9. The store will be located at 615 Main St., Ste. 102, Frisco. (Community Impact Newspaper)
- A new study has ranked Frisco as the No. 1 pet-friendly road trip destination in Texas! In preparation for National Pet Day in April, the new study from Motel 6 and BestPlaces looked at key metrics such as access to dog parks, green spaces and hiking trails for animals to explore, proximity to pet stores and vets, dog-friendly restaurants, and more. The survey found that Frisco ranked high on each of these metrics. (CW33 Dallas)
