- The city of Frisco recently released a new interactive "story map" showcasing the city's top hiking and bike trails for residents and visitors who love the great outdoors. The map lays out Frisco's system of accessible recreational trails for people of all ages and abilities. On its website, the city says its goal was to create a trail system that "creates shared experiences, promotes health and well-being, and helps the public connect with [its] parks and nature." - The new Frisco Library needs a name for its model dinosaur, and they want to hear your suggestions! Residents are invited to submit names for the library dinosaur, a full-size T. rex skeleton replica that will stand in the future 155,000 square-foot facility. Visit the Frisco Library website from Jan. 10 through Feb. 6 to suggest your monicker for the prehistoric mascot, which library officials say is a "she." (Star Local Media)
- On Wednesday, Transwestern Development Corp. (TDC) announced that it had broken ground on McKinney National Business Park, a five-building, 945,000-square-foot industrial project adjacent to McKinney National Airport. The project is a speculative development that will be constructed on a 64-acre site in two phases. Phase I is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2022. (Rebusiness Online)
