Each year, Frisco ISD teachers nominate and vote for their peers in honor of the annual Campus Teacher of the Year recognition. This year, 43 elementary and 31 secondary educators have been selected by their peers.
Each Campus Teacher of the Year proudly represents the District’s mission and beliefs while being a role model for their colleagues.

Campus Teachers of the Year are eligible to apply for the District Teacher of the Year award in elementary or secondary categories. Last year’s winners were Newman Elementary Kindergarten teacher Cathy May and Frisco High School economics teacher Melody Nicholson. Learn more about them.
The process for Teacher of the Year selection is based on criteria from the Texas Association of School Administrators. Each Campus Teacher of the Year will submit an application, which includes a resume, two essay responses and two letters of recommendation, in hopes of being selected as the FISD Elementary or Secondary Teacher of the Year.
A selection committee will review the applications anonymously and use a rubric to score the responses. The selection committee is made up of representatives from the Frisco Area Retired School Personnel, the Frisco ISD Council of PTAs and Frisco Education Foundation Business and community leaders are also part of the selection committee.
Campus Teachers of the Year will be recognized at the annual Teacher of the Year celebration that will be held in March at The Star. The 2021-22 Frisco ISD Campus Teachers of the Year include:
