If you find that you have a lot of opinions or information on a particular topic, you should consider writing a blog. Thousands of people have started successful blogs that allow them to enrich other people’s lives by sharing information. Personally, I have a saltwater aquarium and I depend on blogs to keep up with the latest developments in that hobby. So, if you have something to share, take a look at the resources below to get started!
Blogging For Dummies by Amy Lupold Bair and Susannah Gardner is a great starter book. So is Blog, Inc.: Blogging for Passion, Profit, and to Create Community by Joy Deangdeelert Cho. Both of these will give you the basics of how to get started. They talk about the technology, business, and art of creating your blog.

If you still aren’t sure what to say, try taking this online class: Writing a Compelling Blog Post by Starshine Roshell. It’s available on LinkedIn Learning which is a great online resource the library provides for free to all Frisco residents. You can also find classes like Use SEO research to generate ideas for your blog content by Brad Batesole to take your blog to the next level.
Finally, if you learn better with a structured course, you can try out Gale Online Courses. This is another online resource that offers 6-week courses on a variety of topics. A couple of good ones are Blogging and Podcasting for Beginners and Write Effective Web Content. Both of these will give you the tools you need to get started.
So, get out there and start blogging! I can’t wait to see what you write.
