Here are the top stories today in McKinney-Frisco:
- A new ranking puts Frisco at the top of the list of the best cities in the U.S. for remote workers. Austin-based business, LawnStarter, examined data for 194 of the biggest U.S. cities covering 20 factors, including remote job opportunities, internet connectivity, cost of living, and availability of personal workspace. Other North Texas cities to make the cut were Dallas, Arlington, and Plano. (CultureMap Dallas)
- McKinney Police arrested a man yesterday after he called 911 to report he shot his common-law wife, Shailene Velez. Joel Torres told investigators Velez was shot while he was clearing his gun at their home in the 4600 block of Kingsway Ln. on Nov. 14. She died at the scene, police said. Torres has been booked into the Collin County Jail on a murder charge. (CBS Dallas / Fort Worth)
- Romeo's Pizza is approaching its opening date in McKinney. The national pizza chain will open at 3755 S. Lake Forest Drive, Ste. 100, with a tentative opening date of Nov. 18. (Community Impact Newspaper)
