- Frisco student Athena Tseng spoke at a virtual Dallas Morning News Education Lab event last Monday that highlighted pandemic issues that are still challenging teachers and schools in North Texas. Tseng, a junior at Frisco’s Liberty High School, contracted COVID-19 earlier this semester and was forced to miss class for two weeks during her required quarantine. Tseng stated that when she returned to school she felt “lost.” (The Dallas Morning News)
- Frisco’s top 10 principal taxpayers accounted for more than $1.4B of Frisco’s tax base last year, nearly doubling the amount from 2012. Stonebriar Mall Ltd Partnership led the city both years, seeing an increase of nearly 45 percent in the last decade. Other high contributors include Blue Star HQ Inc and BPR Shopping Center LP. (The Dallas Morning News)
- The Texas Lyceum will host its annual public conference, ‘Texas in the 2020s: Prospects, Pathways, Power” in Frisco from Mar. 31 to Apr. 1. Healthcare, politics, and growth are a part of the agenda. Ross Ramsey, executive editor and co-founder of The Texas Tribune, will moderate the discussion with Karl Rove, former deputy chief of staff and senior adviser to President George W. Bush, and Chris Turner, chair of the Texas House Democratic Caucus. (D Magazine)
