Here are the top three stories in McKinney-Frisco today:
- This Saturday at the UIL State Swimming and Diving Championships, the Frisco Wakeland boys team made an impressive showing as Class 5A state champions. The statewide meet was held in Austin at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center. Some standout athletes include Conor McKenna, who placed first in the 200 Freestyle and second in the 100 Butterfly, and Tate Bladon, who placed second in the 50 Freestyle and fourth in the 100 Freestyle. - In Frisco, there will be various roadway projects happening this week that may impact the flow of traffic. Most of the roadway projects are new or ongoing pavement repairs that will take approximately two weeks to complete. The restriping work on Legacy Drive from Panther Creek Parkway to Main Street will require daily lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., weather permitting. (Press Release Desk)
- Courtney Mikial Thomas, 31, has been arrested and charged with the December 2021 murder of Jennifer Hernandez. Thomas allegedly shot Hernandez, 45, in the chest while she was driving her SUV. She crashed into a light pole near 1500 N. Rockford and died on the scene. Thomas is currently in the Collin County Jail in McKinney. (Shore News Network)
