Here are the top stories today in McKinney-Frisco:
- Three students at McKinney Boyd High School are recovering after being hit by a vehicle Friday morning. The McKinney School District told parents the students, who are cross country runners, were in the crosswalk when they were hit. The students were taken to the hospital and the driver remained on the scene. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
- Japanese department store Teso Life will soon be coming to the Frisco Ranch shopping center off Warren Parkway and Preston Road. The shopping center is planning to add 23,829 square feet of business space across from 99 Ranch Market. Teso Life will occupy a 10,385-square-foot building alongside three future tenants, according to a report from developers NewQuest Properties. An open green space outside the businesses is also planned. (Community Impact Newspaper)
- The future of McKinney could include a deck park on State Highway 5. Gary Graham, the city’s engineering director, reported that discussions have been underway with the Texas Department of Transportation and the North Central Texas Council of Governments regarding a potential deck park that would stretch between Virginia and Louisiana Streets. Said Graham, "With all the redevelopment we have happening on the east side of Highway 5, we want to bridge the two areas and help re-establish a connection that was taken away when [it] was originally constructed."
