- Last Friday night, the McKinney Chamber of Commerce threw its annual Community Awards Celebration to highlight community members and business leaders that had an impact on the community. McKinney locals wore derby attire to celebrate the big wins. The event was themed "Off To The Winners Circle" and was hosted at the Sheraton Hotel in McKinney. (Star Local Media)
- During the USA Gymnastics Annual Winter Cup 2022 in Frisco this weekend, three young gymnasts made history. It's the first time in U.S. gymnastics where all three all-around medals were achieved in a major competition by Black gymnasts: Konner McClain (first), Skye Blakely (second), and eMjae Frazier (third). Both McClain and Blakely train at WOGA Gymnastics in Frisco and Plano, and are hopeful for their chances at heading to Paris in 2024. (The Black Wall Street Times)
