Here are the top stories today in McKinney-Frisco:

  1. The city of McKinney is facing challenges with its efforts to close two concrete batch plants due to a lawsuit from one of the plant’s owners. TXI Operations, the owner of the Martin Marietta plant, claims the city's methods for shutting down the plant are illegal, despite the fact that the city has claimed in court its amortization process was done legally. TXI’s claims include that since it did not receive notice of the rezoning, the city’s actions to rezone the property were rendered null and void. (Community Impact Newspaper)
  2. The city of Frisco has several water-related projects underway and coming up in 2022. Work has already begun on the elevated water storage tank on Eldorado Parkway near Granbury Drive, which is due for its lifecycle painting, said Kevin Grant, Frisco’s assistant director of public works. The city is also working to invest in its reuse system to conserve potable water and irrigate its parks with reused water. (Community Impact Newspaper)
