Here are the top three stories in McKinney-Frisco today:

  1. A doctor currently residing in McKinney has been charged with defrauding health care insurers and creating false medical records. Dr. Daniel Castro was employed by a Michigan hospital from February 2015 until May 2017, where he practiced as an ENT. Dr. Castro reportedly performed various surgeries on patients whose health status did not support the medical necessity of such procedures; he also billed for complex surgeries he did not complete.   2. McKinney Black History Month 2022; Legends to Legacies has begun, with several events scheduled to celebrate the lives, voices, and contributions of African-Americans. Saturday marks the inaugural McKinney Black History Month Exhibit and Competition, held at the McKinney Performing Arts Center. Residents can also attend a Harlem Renaissance-themed party on Friday, Feb. 18 at The Sanctuary Event Center. (Visit McKinney TX)
  3. Come see the Young Actors Guild (YAG) perform "Twelve Incompetent Jurors," a comedic parody of "Twelve Angry Men." Performances will take place at the Courtroom Theater at the McKinney Performing Arts Center, and will run from Thursday, Feb. 24 through Saturday, Feb. 26. (7:30 PM)
