Here are the top stories today in McKinney-Frisco:

1. Three McKinney residents are running for City Council in the upcoming Jan. 15 special election. John Booher, Patrick Cloutier, and Vicente Torres have each sent in applications for the seat. The last day to register to vote in this election is Dec. 16. (Community Impact Newspaper)
2. The city of Frisco will host the Frosty 5K and Merry Mile races, sponsored by Texas Health Hospital Frisco. All runners and walkers will receive a Frosty 5K long-sleeve shirt and 2021 finisher medals, and the first 1,000 registrants will also receive a signature fanny pack.
