- Fast-growing McKinney has been named as one of America's top 50 "boomtowns" by SmartAsset. McKinney, which ranked No. 39 on the list, has seen its population rise an astounding 27.24 percent, the housing rate jumping 30.85 percent, and a 24.01 percent change in businesses the last five years. It earned a "Boomtown Score" of 83.59 out of 100, closely trailing nearby Denton's score of 83.87 (ranked No. 36). (CultureMap Dallas)
- The City of Frisco has announced planned joint seal work on Legacy Drive from Main Street to Panther Creek Parkway that will impact traffic. The work will require a lane closure from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. today (Nov. 6), weather permitting. The city estimates two weeks of Saturday work to complete the pavement sealing project. (City of Frisco)
- Volunteers are needed to help plant trees at Wilson Creek in McKinney today from 8:00 a.m. to noon in celebration of Texas Arbor Day. Volunteers are recommended to bring a shovel and wear closed-toe shoes. (North Texas e-News)
