- The City of Frisco has issued a traffic advisory as tomorrow's NCAA Championship Football Game at Toyota Stadium approaches. In a press release, the City noted that local traffic might be delayed on northbound Dallas Parkway between Cotton Gin Road and Main Street before and after the 11 a.m. game. Additionally, parts of Cotton Gin Road and southbound Frisco Street will be closed, and northbound, southbound,and westbound left turns will be prohibited at Frisco Street and All Stars Avenue. Residents who are not attending the game may wish to plan an alternate route to avoid stadium traffic. (Press Release Desk)
- Looking for some fun activities in the McKinney-Frisco area this weekend? There's plenty to do over the next few days, including local high school sports games, a yoga workshop at the Apex Centre, and a "DivaDance" party at Old Settler's Recreation Center. (McKinney-Frisco Patch)
- A formerly homeless McKinney restaurant owner now helps fellow residents by offering free meals to those who need it. Ram Mehta, who operates La Meglio in Plano and Firo Fire Kissed Pizza in McKinney, has a sign on the door offering "a couple slices of hot pizza and a fountain drink at no charge" to anyone who is "hungry, homeless, or can't afford a meal." Despite the financial struggles of many businesses throughout the pandemic, Mehta has maintained and grown his "Everyone Eatz" movement in honor of his late mother, whom he says taught him the value of showing respect to everyone, regardless of circumstances.
