- A series of workshops for new landowners begins next week in McKinney and will run through Aug. 27. The Landowner 101 series covers the basics of managing land and will include a provided lunch for in-person participants. Registration for each workshop is $30 and is open online now. - The Frisco Independent School District is honoring the legacy of Armetha Norris, the district's first school health coordinator. Norris passed away earlier this month at the age of 92, but her legacy lives on in her namesake school, Armetha Norris Elementary. Anyone looking to honor Norris's memory can make a donation in her name to support student scholarships through the Frisco Education Foundation. (Star Local Media)
- The City of Frisco is offering several volunteer opportunities in honor of National Volunteer Month this April. Residents can become volunteers by registering online and searching for the organizations that interest them.
