Here are the top stories today in McKinney-Frisco:
- A McKinney pharmacist won a national award for"Best Pharmacist of the Year." Jennifer Bourgeois, Pharm.D., was selected by the Best of the Best Pharmacy Awards for her commitment to her patients behind and beyond the counter. Bourgeois has worked as a pharmacist at Market Street for the past eight years and has developed close relationships with many of her past and present customers. She and her family also started the non-profit organization A New View, which collects and helps distribute used eyeglasses to people with visual impairments. (SingleCare)
- Restaurants with sprawling outdoor spaces are all the rage around Dallas-Fort Worth, and now McKinney has one of its own. The Stix Icehouse is a new restaurant/bar and outdoor space that celebrated its grand opening over the weekend at 301 Eldorado Parkway. In addition to food and drinks, the 14-acre complex offers a nine-hole disc golf course, wiffle ball, corn hole, ping pong, swings, and a treehouse. (CultureMap Dallas)
