  1. The Texas governor's office has announced a McKinney employee's reappointment to the Texas Industrialized Building Code Council. Gov. Greg Abbott announced the reappointment of multiple people to new terms on the council, including Suzanne Arnold, who serves as McKinney’s Chief Building Official. Arnold's new term will end on Feb. 1, 2024. (Star Local Media)
  2. McKinney police are seeking the public's help in finding a missing 15-year-old girl. Police say Nevaeh Simpkins was last seen walking away from a convenience store at Custer and Rolater roads about 1 a.m. Wednesday. Simpkins stands at 5-2, about 120 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black hoodie with a Playboy logo and black sweatpants. (The Dallas Morning News)
  3. The Frisco Police Department has arrested six juveniles so far in 2022 for school threats. The Frisco PD also reported 20 overall juvenile arrests in Jan. 2022, which is a 200% increase per capita over the seven arrested in Jan. 2021. “The percentage, since we’re at the beginning of the year, looks a little higher, but I will say school threats is an ongoing issue that we’re dealing with, and it’s something that we simply have to take every threat to a school campus seriously,” Police Chief David Shilson said.   • In 2021, Frisco saw its highest level of traffic fatalities in 15 years, a trend that Police Chief David Shilson said is not unique to Frisco. The Frisco Police Department reported 12 traffic fatalities and 11 fatal crashes in 2021. (Facebook)
  • The McKinney ISD two-way dual language program offered at Caldwell Elementary is currently accepting applications through April 8, 2022, for the 2022–2023 school year. (Facebook)
  • With temperatures falling, the Salvation Army has opened a warming station in McKinney. It will provide shelter, meals, bottles of water, coffee, and hot drinks. The warming station is located at 600 Wilson Creek Pkwy. (Facebook)
