Here are the top stories in McKinney-Frisco today:

1. The North Texas skyline glowed purple last night in celebration of Scottish Rite for Children's 100th birthday. Frisco's Scottish Rite campus, along with Frisco Square, National Soccer Hall of Fame, Frisco Chamber, Hall Park, and Frisco City Hall, was lit up with purple lights in support of the organization's centennial. Over the last century, the world-renowned pediatric orthopedic institution has become a world leader in healing children's muscles, joints, and bones.
2. A November groundbreaking has been announced for Avendale, a 27-acre community within Painted Tree that will offer 276 homes and townhomes for rent. Avanta Residential says it is currently developing floor plans for Avendale and expects to deliver the homes in mid-2023. The full Painted Tree development spans over 1,100 acres north of US 380 near Lake Forest Drive in McKinney. (Community Impact)
3. The City of Frisco will be working on several pavement repairs this week, including the Northbound Teel Parkway before Bewley Drive and Evening Sun Drive in the Quail Meadow Village Neighborhood. (City of Frisco)
