Here are the top three stories today in McKinney-Frisco:
- As sleet pellets fall hard in Frisco, the North Texas Tollway Authority is conducting around-the-clock shifts to treat the roads. NTTA has sensor technology, including over 1,000 cameras, tracking road conditions. Teams will continue to treat the roadways with salt until the winter weather event concludes. - Frisco crews respond to overnight fire, an uptick of winter weather traffic, and downed tree limbs due to major ice accumulation. All residents at the fire in District 6 were safely evacuated. As the city continues to cover with sheets of ice and snow, Frisco police encourage residents to stay home, or drive slowly and with extreme caution. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
- The City of McKinney announced several closures, modifications and warming centers ahead of the winter weather this weekend. Closures include the Downtown Area Shuttle and the McKinney Performing Arts Center; the Friday Night Country Dance originally scheduled for Feb. 4 at the senior recreation center has been rescheduled to Feb. 11. - City Hall of Frisco, TX is keeping residents and non-residents posted on the Endless Summer Daddy Daughter Dance, which is still scheduled for tomorrow.
