  1. According to the unofficial results, McKinney residents elected Patrick Cloutier to the At-Large City Council seat on Saturday, which was vacated when Council Member Frederick Frazier announced his candidacy to run for a state House Representative seat. Cloutier defeated Vicente Torres, who earned 1,393 votes or 33.1 percent of the total, and John Booher, who earned 340 votes or 8.08 percent of the total. (North Texas e-News)
  2. This past week, Texas-based supermarket chain H-E-B named Frisco ISD's board of trustees as one of five finalists for its Excellence in Education Awards, School Board award category. Frisco ISD representatives said H-E-B will present the district with a $5,000 check during the judges' visit. They will then compete for more cash prizes at the statewide level, and winners will be announced on April 30. (Star Local Media)
