Here are the top three stories in McKinney-Frisco today:

  1. A Texas woman stopped a credit card scammer in their tracks at a McKinney 7-Eleven after discovering that the store had a skimming device attached to its payment terminal. Nyshje Rattler, 25, used a credit card at 7-Eleven and later discovered she had been scammed out of hundreds of dollars. She returned to the same location and recorded a now-viral TikTok video of her investigating and removing the credit card skimmer, which is now in the hands of McKinney police. According to KNUE, investigators are currently trying to find out how many people may have been scammed and where the skimmer originated. (knue.com)
  2. Two former employees of the Collin County Jail have been reinstated just over a year after they were terminated in connection with 26-year-old Marvin Scott’s in-custody death. A total of seven employees were placed on administrative leave and then fired for reportedly using pepper spray on Scott and placing a spit mask on his face during a struggle, which ultimately led to Scott becoming unresponsive and later dying. Four of the seven employees appealed the termination, and last week, a judge reinstated just two of them: one with a demotion and one with a 10-day suspension. (CBS DFW)
