The event, entitled "How Your Personal Financial Habits Impact Your Business," will
be offered both in-person in the Forest Room of the Bayou Building and via Zoom on
Oct. 22, 2021, from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Guest speaker for the seminar is Ibrahim Saleh, a corporate planning and strategy

SCORE Houston, a network of volunteer, expert business mentors dedicated to helping
small businesses achieve their goals.

The session aims to provide real-world information to students, faculty, staff and
the community. Saleh will share how to fund a business concept, how to manage cash
flow, and he will discuss the foundations of money management and the importance of
tackling personal debt.

"Eighty percent of small businesses fail within the first two years," Saleh said.
"And this is because the business owner never learned the fundamentals of financial
management."

Rather than trying to repair financial errors, Saleh said that he prefers to see people
develop smart financial habits that prevent those disasters from happening in the
first place.

"In medicine, preventing a disease is much better than curing one," Saleh said. "Good
patients get checkups and develop lifestyles that allow them to be healthy, happy
and productive. Similarly, financial health is essential to the health of a business.
Using the tools of awareness and education, success is possible for those who take
the time to learn."

Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees. Register for this free event online.
