• Audio Pasadena and South Houston High's parade float marks the start of Pasadena's rodeo festivities. (pasadenian.com) — Pasadena's rodeo season is officially underway after Pasadena High and South Houston High joined forces on a shared FFA float in this morning's parade. Students, families, and staff braved the heat to celebrate the Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo tradition. Now residents can look ahead to the cook-off starting September 11 and the rodeo opening September 18.
   

• Calling all generous spirits: Pasadena's Pets and Pumpkins needs your prize donations. (pasadenian.com) — Pasadena residents are invited to help power this year's Pets & Pumpkins festival at 5160 Burke Road by donating prizes for contest winners, from gift cards to fun products. The October 24 event will feature pet costume contests, trunk-or-treating, vendors, and spooky photo ops while supporting shelter animals. Interested sponsors can get involved by emailing the organizers.
