Vinson has prosecuted similar nuisance cases, particularly in areas of northwest Houston in recent months were nuisance properties were sued and ordered to make adjustments to abate illegal activity, such as hiring security and installing security cameras.
Those lawsuits also require a significant bond payment to the state.
Meanwhile, according to the lawsuit, the court will establish the parameters, which will include a the payment of a bond to the state between $5,000 and $10,000 under the condition that they will not allow the activities to continue.
But if the owners violate the bond violated, court documents state the bond amount and attorney fees would have to be paid by the owners, and the Chevron Gas Station Truck Stop would be ordered to close for one year.
Other potential penalties include having utilities turned off, revoking occupancy permit, or closing the business permanently.
