Baytown Woman Charged In 2 Road Rage Incidents
Amanda Downs is accused of pointing a gun at passing motorists on Highway 225, and is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

LA PORTE, TX — A Baytown woman is facing felony aggravated assault charges related to two road rage incidents in La Porte.
Amanda Downs, 25, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police said she allegedly pointed a handgun at motorists while driving on State Highway 225 in July and again on Aug. 2.
In the most recent incident, a witness said Downs was driving a red Chevrolet Silverado, and pointed a handgun at the driver and his son.

The man’ son was able to take a picture of Downs, who was pointing what appeared to be a handgun at them through her driver’s side window.
Police officers canvassed the area looking for the pickup and found Downs, according to a KPRC report.

Downs allegedly admitted to both incidents and surrendered a folding knife in a case shaped like a handgun, KTRK reported.
Police said people who are the victim of road rage should immediately call 911 and drive to the nearest police station or public place.
