Deer Park Man Threatened With A Gun During Road Rage Incident

Driver reportedly confronted man with a gun who'd been speeding and driving reckless

DEER PARK TX -- A man who allegedly pointed a gun at another man during a road rage incident in December was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

On Dec. 10, Deer Park police received a call about a man in a black Kia Optima recklessly and at a high rate of speed on Pasadena Blvd.

The driver told police that the speeding Kia Optima, driven by Kelly Weatherly, 43, sped up behind him and caught up to him at a traffic signal.

The driver told police that he confronted Weatherly by flipping him the middle finger, and Weatherly responded by pointing a gun at him through his driver side window.

When Weatherly drove off, the driver contacted police with information on the Kia Optima.

After investigating the incident, police arrested Weatherly and charged him with aggravated assault.

He was taken to the Harris County Jail and is being held in lieu of $30,000 bond.
