Driver Killed During Pursuit With Baytown Police

BAYTOWN, TX — A man who led Baytown Police on a short high-speed chase was killed when he crashed into an overpass at Texas 146 and Garth Road.

The crash happened at about 3 a.m. Sunday as police were trying to pullover a driver on Texas 146.

Police said the driver took off and exited onto Garth Road where the driver crashed into the side of the overpass, causing his car to ignite, KTRK reported.

Police were able to extinguish the flames and found the driver dead inside the car.

The identity of the man has not been released.
