Grab a Slice of Community Fun at the Watermelon Dash, Saturday, August 8!

Get ready for a sweet summer run or walk at the annual Watermelon Dash - presented by Houston Running Company (HRC) – that takes place Saturday, August 8, starting and ending at Karbach Brewing Company, 2032 Karbach Street in Houston.

The 5K and 10K both start at 7 a.m., followed by an awards ceremony at 8:15 a.m., and the Kids/Family 1K at 8:45 a.m. With free parking, and watermelon-themed fun, this family-friendly walk/run is too cool to pass up!

The Watermelon Dash is about more than just cool treats and finish-line photos – it’s also about giving back. This year’s event will benefit three nonprofit organizations making a real difference in local communities; Ainsley's Angels provides inclusive racing opportunities for individuals with special needs, Asher House rescues and rehomes displaced animals, and LifeGift Organ Donation saves and improves lives through organ, eye and tissue donation services in North and West Texas. Together, these organizations help ensure every mile on the course makes a meaningful impact.

“We’re thrilled to bring the third and final event in our Summer Dash Series back to Houston,” said Randi Schooley, HRC co-founder. “The Watermelon Dash is the perfect way to celebrate at the end of summer, make lasting memories and support causes that strengthen our communities.”

The Watermelon Dash wraps up HRC's Summer Dash Series, which included the Lemonade Dash in June and the Popsicle Dash in July.

Medals will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, top three Masters (40+) male and female, and first place age group winners (10-year divisions).

Houston area residents are encouraged to walk, run and give back at this community event, where every step supports a great cause!
